Alright folks, so before we begin, I wanted to tell you a little bit about the piece of software that we're covering today. One of the things I love about Microsoft OneNote is that there's really an application for everyone. Whether you're a stay-at-home parent or a busy business executive, there is a use for everyone. If you're not familiar with the software, let me explain it in one sentence: it is a nonlinear form of Microsoft Word. With Word, you go line by line and it's typically just text. However, with Microsoft OneNote, it's more nonlinear. You can draw anywhere, click to put text, and organize your content into different notebooks. Whether you're using it to catalogue recipes or organize notes about clients, the application is for everyone. Now, for today's class, I'm going to be teaching you using my Mac. However, for those of you on PCs, everything should be pretty similar. There may be some subtle changes here and there, but the information remains the same. One important thing to note is that Microsoft OneNote synchronizes your data, making it accessible from different devices. If, for example, you have a house fire, you can still access your important information by signing into onenote.com with your Microsoft account. Additionally, Microsoft OneNote has some great features that work with other tools, such as your web browser.
