Hi, the phenomenon that I chose for my project is childhood amnesia. Childhood amnesia is the frequent failure of adults to retain memory from the earliest years of infancy. Usually, this phenomenon exists from about ages 3 to 5. What I hope to prove is that this phenomenon does exist. To prove this, my plan is to ask all of my subjects to recall childhood memories and then ask them to try to recall their very earliest childhood memory. I'm most curious to see if they can remember anything from ages 3 to 5. If they can't remember anything as early as those ages, then I will conclude that childhood amnesia does exist. Now, what's your name? Norm Case and how old are you? I'm 52. Okay, give me two examples of childhood memories. "Walking on the beach of Westport with my parents, looking for rocks and seashells when I was very young" and "probably my earliest childhood memory was on my grandfather's farm in Carnation Valley, my first dog Lady, is a Collie and German Shepherd mix." Okay, how old were you when you remembered that? Approximately five, it's just like a vague memory, but I remember it. Thanks. Moving on, what's your name? Shift Wiggle and how old are you? Oh, that's right, I'm 65. Can you give me two childhood memories? "Used to watch my grandparents and the farm and spending a lot of time out there." Do you remember what your earliest childhood memory is? That was it, I spent a lot of time out there. How old were you when that happened? What? Oh, I think the last time I was there, I was around five. Thanks. Alright, what's your name? My name is... How old are you? I'm... Alright. Give me a couple of...
