Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Moonlit and Polished. This week, I've received a few requests for different things, and one of those requests was to do builder gel nails with dual forms. So, first, I want to show you all the different forms that I have. I have three different nail forms. I like this one because of its natural shape and curve. It also has lines that can be used as a guide for nail length. This one is great because it has lines as well, but the edge is more square and flat, making the cuticle area more flush. However, the downfall of this one is that it has a square surface instead of a rounded one like most dual forms. Today, I'll be using a plain form with numbers on the outside as a length guide. The first step is to prep my nails. I lightly buff the surface of my nails to remove any excess oil or leftover product. Then, I take a wipe that is dipped in either nail cleanser, acetone, or alcohol (I'm using 91% alcohol) to clean the nail bed and dehydrate it a bit. If you don't have a dehydrator, alcohol can be used as a substitute. Additionally, for long-lasting wear, I recommend using a pro bond. However, since I want quick removal, I'll be using the Orly Gel Effects Easy Off Base Coat. I apply a thin layer of this base coat to the surface of my nails, ensuring all edges are covered. Next, I'll be using this lamp, which has a 30-second and 60-second time interval and only costs $25. With this lamp, I'll be curing the builder gel.
